Our History
We started our advisory services business because we saw a gap in what our clients needed. The explosion of data and data analytics has changed the landscape for many of our clients. Our history originated in the global private investment space and over time moved to Middle Market advisory services. We have developed deep relationships over the years within the private investing and data analytics fields which we now bring to our clients to assist them in navigating the todays complex environment. Our value add for our clients comes from our past history of global private investment, special situations and operations management. We believe in nonstop value creation and are excited to work with you, our clients.

Steven Koinis - Our Managing Partner, Steven Koinis, is a C-Suite executive with a strong understanding of a board’s role in Governance, supporting management, establishing policies, executive transitions, strategic positioning, international and cross-border mergers & acquisitions, and execution of capital formation. He has demonstrated success accelerating investment and financial returns in private investment portfolios with enterprise valuations from $50M to $1B. He has held leadership roles within private equity, Sovereign Wealth Fund and family investment firms as Limited Partner, General Partner, and Deal and Operating Partner focused on international investment in tech enabled finance and health related businesses, real estate, light manufacturing, infrastructure, and consumer products.

Khalid Alagel, Senior Managing Director
Khalid Alagel - Our Senior Managing Partner, Khalid Alagel has spent over 20 years supporting the growth of business opportunities for U.S.-based clients in the Middle East’s Gulf Cooperation Council region (GCC), with a focus on healthcare. He now brings his unique expertise and relationships to Black Slate Capital & Advisory for the benefit of clients expanding to or working in the region, across a variety of industries.
Khalid has an extraordinary track record helping U.S. companies navigate the business and political landscapes of the GCC, and supporting GCC region clients in complex matters. As founder and president of Gulf Care Group, Khalid successfully assisted some of the most prestigious medical institutions in the United States with their expansions into the Middle East and with the facilitation of relationships resulting in significant international program expansions for U.S. hospitals. He continues to support some of America’s top hospitals in this regard. Khalid was honored to be awarded the contract to design and build two mobile hospital systems from the Royal Clinic of Saudi Arabia for His Majesty the King of Saudi Arabia.
Khalid regularly interfaces with senior government officials from throughout the GCC region on a wide range of matters, and provides a keen understanding of regional political sensitivities to clients, grounded in a sophisticated business background.
Khalid is an active investor in the healthcare sector, both domestically and internationally.
